The panorama and nuance are superb, but tourists must spend some stamina and time in order to reach the location. Roro Kuning Waterfall is popular due to many reasons, actually. Still, two major allures are the beauty and historical value.

The Nuance
The waterfall is located in 600 meters above the sea level. Thus, the nuance is refreshing and comfy enough for relaxation. In terms of size, the height is about 14 meters. The water comes from three different fountains located on Wilis Mountain, in fact. From those sources, the water flows through hard rocks under the pine forest. The water discharge is considered low, though. One thing, it features three small water discharges (looking like a trident). Also, the site is surrounded by bushes and big trees. Even the tree roots can be seen clearly! Another feature is the natural pond located under the falls. It looks serene and comforting.

Exploring Roro Kuning Waterfall
The first allure in Roro Kuning Waterfall is related to the beauty of nature. The site is considered secluded, so it is suitable for lessening or getting rid of stresses. The combination of big trees, bushes on a cliff, and three water discharges indeed astonish all visitors. During the visit, these people won’t feel bored, for sure. They can also take advantage of this stunning scenery to enjoy photography. Many great objects can be a background for their photos, after all. They only need to explore the site well.

What is more? When visiting the waterfall, it is recommended to learn about history too. The local government even built a monument in that area, in order to remember General Sudirman’s struggle during the fight against the Dutch. Aside from the monument, tourists may find a simple house where Sudirman spent a week for resting in the past. In order to learn further history, tourists must ask the locals or their guide, though.

It is likely visitors also want to find out the legend related to Roro Kuning Waterfall. Well, the name derived from a princess of Kediri Kingdom. She was sick back then and tried to find out the best cure in the forest. She met a mysterious physician and conducted a healing ritual. One of the rituals was to take a bath in the waterfall. Interestingly, the diseases disappeared instantly. Thus, the locals gave the name to the waterfall based on this legend.
